On June 17, we held a very successful seminar on the subject of ‘Marketing Your Business Online: How to Achieve Online Local Domination and 6 Things You Should Be Doing’. The event was a collaboration with SME Centre @ SICCI, which was the brainchild of SPRING Singapore. We were informed by SME Centre that after the event was open for registration, it was fully booked within 3 hours! To date, this is a record for any event they have organized.
The target audience for the talk comprised business owners, entrepreneurs, directors, senior executives, marketing managers, and marketing executives. On the day itself, it was very well attended, with 42 people from 38 companies. By the end of the presentation, the attendees would have learned the basics of digital marketing, 6 essential things they should be doing to gain online presence and be noticed by their target audience as well as what was the Online Local Domination and how to achieve it.
OOJO’s Presenter, our Marketing Director, Timotheus Lee (click here for his profile) started the presentation with stating the objectives of digital marketing, the learning objectives for that day’s workshop, the fact that traditional marketing did not work anymore, where consumers were searching for products and services, how to find them, how to reach out to them and how to engage them.
He also spoke about the potential for exponential profit growth for businesses through the use of digital marketing, and provided interesting statistics such as the fact that 91.5% of people choose a business that appears on the First Page of search results. He also elaborated on the importance of having a website and social media presence but emphasized that having both were not enough to increase sales and outperform competitors.
With the stage set, Timotheus dived into the essence of the seminar – the first part about the 6 essential things every business should be doing to market their business online. And these 6 things were basic SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Social Media marketing, Blogs, Online Videos, Autoresponders and Free Reports. After this segment, he further shared about Online Local Domination that helped businesses to increase brand exposure, enhance brand awareness, draw traffic to their websites and increase sales by converting interested prospects into customers.
